This is getting to be quite a compilation of documents.  I gathered many of them on my first trip to Ashe Co., NC back in 2001.  Many of these have been submitted by other members of the Group 7 descendants.  I would like to be able to continue to add to these documents.  If you have any that might be of interest, please consider donating them to the site!

NEW -This is the death record for Elijah Amburse "Coon" Pennington, Jr., son of Elijah Pennington and Mary Osborne, and grandson of Levi Pennington and Elizabeth Henson.  He was b. 4 Aug 1868 and d. 7 Apr 1936 and was married to Polly Jane Osborne on 7 Aug 1887.  (Donated by Carolyn Waters)
NEW -This the death record of Isaac Pennington, son of Elijah Pennington and Mary Osborne, and grandson of Levi Pennington and Elizabeth Henson.  He was b. 12 May 1862 and d. 12 Aug 1936 and was married to Martitia Osborne abt 1884.  (Donated by Carolyn Waters)
NEW -This is the death record of Martitia Osborne b. 6 Oct 1869 and d. 4 Mar 1963.  She was the daughter of David Osborne and Jane Maxwell.  Martitia was married to Isaac Pennington.  (Donated by Carolyn Waters)
NEW - This is the death record for William R. Pennington. He was the son of Larkin Pennington and Lydia Lewis and grandson of Levi Pennington and Elizabeth Henson.  William was b. 26 Nov 1860 and d. 21 Sept 1935 and was married to Cynthia Duvall.  (Donated by Carolyn Waters)
NEW -This is the death record of Ephraim Stacy Pennington.  He was b. 20 Oct 1888 and d. 11 Jan 1938.  He was the son of Elijah Amburse "Coon" Pennington, Jr and Polly Jane Osborne, grandson of Elijah Pennington and Mary Osborne, and great-grandson of Levi Pennington and Elizabeth Henson.  He was married to a Maggie.   (Donated by Carolyn Waters)
NEW -The first document is a statement of permission signed by her Father, Rezin
Baker. I normally do not receive a document as this, so to me it would imply
that she was under the legal age (Comment and file supplied by Rosalie Graham) - I have done some initial research and it would seem that Nancy Baker was the daughter of Reason/Rezin Baker and Nellie Roberts.

NEW -This is the bondsmen statement signed by Micajah Pennington and Edwin
Baker.  There seems to be some data on the web about Edwin Baker.  He was b. 20 Nov 1785 in NC and appears to be Nancy's brother.  Edwin was married to Sallie Roberts and was the father of some 12 children.  Rezin Baker appears in the tax records in Madison Co., KY in 1789.  If Nancy is under 16 in 1812 when she marries, then she was probably born around 1797.  She would probably be married to Micajah Pennington III and not Micajah, Jr. (document provided by Rosalie Graham.)
NEW -Source: Minister's Returns citing the marriage of Pennington to Baker as found in Madison County, Kentucky, Marriage Certificate Book 1 (1787- 1843, on page 107, on record in the Madison County Clerk's office, Richmond, KY. (document provided by Rosalie Graham.)

NEW - Copy of the Marriage bond between Micajah Pennington and Linthey Jones.  The bondsmen were Micajah Pennington, Jr. and James Williams.  Rosalie Graham has provided us with these copies.  I have created a negative image of these three documents - sometimes that makes them easier to read.
NEW -Copy of the Marriage license between Micajah Pennington and Linthey Jones.  This marriage occurred in Clay Co., KY. Rosalie Graham has provided us with these copies.
NEW -This is a copy of the Clay Co., KY Court House book with the marriage listed.
NEW - Marriage record for Levi Pennington and Micha "Michy" Frances Lemaster.  Levi is the son of Joshua Pennington and Nancy Sparks.  They were married 21 Jan 1858 in Johnson Co., KY.
NEW -This the death record for Levi Pennington.  He was b. 1 Dec 1832 and d. 31 May 1913.  He and his wife Micha Lemaster had 11 children.  Levi was the son of Joshua Pennington and probable grandson of Micajah Pennington, Jr. He died in Greenup Co., KY.
This is a land document that was recorded on 19 Sept 1799.  It is a land grant to Micajah Pennington.  It was recorded in Book A, Pg. 305.
This is a land document that was recorded on 30 Oct 1801.  It is a land grant to Micajah Pennington.  It was recorded in Book B, Pg. 105.
This is a land document that was recorded on 20 Feb 1800.  It is a land grant to Ephraim Pennington.  It was recorded in Book B, Pg. 428.  I am not sure what the relationship is to the Group 7 Penningtons.  Ephraim could be Micajah Pennington's brother, or cousin.  There is certainly a relationship of some type.
This land grant document is located on the following page after the document above.  It could be talking about the same piece of land.  Nevertheless, it was recorded on 15 Nov 1803 and is granted to Ephraim Pennington.
This records a sale of a piece of land between David Worth and Levi Pennington.  The sale was recorded on 11 Aug 1857.  However, if you look in the note near the bottom - there is a mention of a probate court.  Is this an accurate date for Levi Pennington's death?  This would be the Levi Pennington who is the son of Levi Pennington and grandson of Micajah Pennington.  The best date we have right now is after 1870.
This land deed documents a sale of land between Elijah Pennington and Nathan Eastrage.  It was recorded on 28 Sept. 1869.  I am not sure which Elijah Pennington this is...I would guess that he is the son of Levi Pennington (II).  Nathan is the husband of Edy Pennington, Elijah Pennington's sister.  She is probably no longer alive when this was recorded.  Nathan Eastrage died in 1885. The document is in Book W - Pg, 200.
Harvey Pennington is the son of Levi Pennington and Elizabeth Hinson (Anderson is another possibility for a surname.)  He was married to Esther Little.  I believe that this sale of land between Levi Pennington to Harvey Pennington is between two brothers, not father and son.  It was recorded in Book Z, Pg. 229.
This is a land grant to Micajah Pennington #1728 recorded on 14 Dec. 1798.  It is recorded in Book A, Pg. 47.
This is a land grant to Micajah Pennington #1706 recorded on 14 Dec. 1798.  It is recorded in Book A, Pg. 48.
Land deed from Levi Pennington to Meredith Ballow of a 100 acres.  It was recorded on 3 Sept 1820 and is in Book C, Pg. 92.
Land Grant to Benajah Pennington from the State of North Carolina #340.  It was recorded 14 Dec 1802.  It is in Book A, Pg. 488.
State Land Grant to Ephraim Pennington, No. 561 recorded on 15 Nov 1803 in Book B, Pg. 429.
Land Deed from Edward Pennington to Jacob May.  This was recorded Feb 1801.
